Illusionists 2.0 Raymond Crowe

The Unusualist Raymond Crowe

Calling himself an Unusualist, instead of a ‘Magician’, Raymond Crowe takes us on a journey that makes sense of his moniker.

He performed three sets in Illusionists 2.0

We wont go into them here, suffice to say, they were all blooming marvelously done. Funny, entertaining, magical, and had that “holy sh*t’, factor.

We must make mention though, of his shadowgraphy. World famous for that one routine alone. Set to Louis Armstrongs ‘What a Wonderful World’, Raymond Crowe makes you smile, laugh and cry all at the same time.

If you’ve only ever seen in on YouTube, you owe it to yourself to experience it LIVE! It becomes something else than what you think. The energy that was in the theatre, when we saw it, was so palpable.

On our visit, that was the last illusion or routine to be played out, and what a great way to send the audience off into the afternoon or night.

Adelaide born, the crowd lapped it up and may have been overzealous in their appreciation of what Raymond Crowe did, but for me, it was so well deserved.

Just plain brilliant.

Illusionists 2.0 is now playing at The Sydney Opera House from the 10th to the 16th January 2014 and more information can be got by clicking HERE
